Rogue Spear veterans know about the Arm Patch feature of the Rainbow Six series - you wear a little logo on your shoulder, like real-life soldiers have their platoon emblems. In the multiplayer demo, you won't find any Arm Patch configuration in the options menu - they probably wanted to hide so it could be an exclusive retail version feature. However, if you've been playing the demo hours a day like I have, you probably noticed the little classic R6/NATO Arm Patch on players' arms during multiplayer games (look closely - see that black square with the dark yellow globe schematic and R6 on it?). That's what tipped me off. Then I saw in the game installation folder (C:\Program Files\Red Storm Entertainment\Raven Shield Multiplayer Demo) that there is a folder called Armpatches, full of 21 arm patches to use!
Please email Armed and DWI any corrections.
1. In the Raven Shield Multiplayer Demo installation folder, open up Save\Profiles\User.ini.
2. Go to the line that says ArmPatchTexture=
3. After the =, put one of the following, and your arm patch will appear as the picture next to it:
You can also make your own arm patches (64*64 pixels, 72 p/inch, TGA 24-bit format). Save it to the Raven Shield Armpatches folder, just like where all the others are. The only program that I know of that can save to TGA files is Adobe Photoshop 7, but I am sure there are others as well.
