The Dollhouse Oddesy
Caitlyn and I have been working on a dollhouse since
Christmas. This is what we have to display so far. We've done
more, but are not ready to display it yet, lol.
Here's some furniture we bought for a buck
each and finished. We added the mesh to the breakfront which I
thought was a nice touch. We bought the sewing machine and the
copper pots and the barrel. We made the Internet for Dummies book
and a set of Brittanica (there are only 6 so far, it to took 3
days to make them--You can read the print inside). Caitlyn made
the pie, loaf of bread, plate of cookies and the Turkey from Fimo.
We made the bowl of apples by painting wood beads. The plates and
bowls are all bought, but Caitlyn painted them. The Flowers are
just tiny cloth purchased flowers in a horn bead glued onto a
button. The pin woven rug was more intricate, lol.
This is my second attempt at a dolly and I must
say she is alot better than the first. She is made from Fimo, with
her head sculpted on a button. Here she is getting dressed, and
she still needs wigging.
Here's the first attempt--kinda pathetic huh? Someday
maybe if she hopes and prays God shall give her
feet.
Well, we've been working diligently for a month now,
and this is all we've gotten ready to display. We have learned
that making miniatures is alot of work. It will take a year at
this rate. We are trying very hard to buy only what we don't think
we can manufacture.
