Penfield Reef The Penfield Reef is in Fairfield, Connecticut.
This reef is about a mile long and is known for harbor blues, fluke and stripers.
All are "Meet at the Reef" Bring your high booths and a warm jacket hopefully we can catch some big bass coming down from New England. Also bring along your favorite plugs and metal . For more Info call me at 201-723-8142. Tony Evangelista Directions:
Go over the Tappan Zee Bridge and take the second right which is I-287. (the Cross Westchester which becomes I-95) Follow the signs for Connecticut. Take I-95 to Exit 21 in Connecticut. Turn right off the ramp. Make a left at the first traffic light ( Route 1 ), then make a right at the fourth traffic light on to Reef Road. Go all the way to the end of Reef Road. Park on either side of Reef Road just before the dead end. Access is a path just to the right of the dead end.
What to Bring: Appropriate tackle...Wet wading shoes or sneakers. ( you'll be walking on sharp mussel beds and rocks ) Air temp usually at 80 -85 degrees and water temps are around 75 degrees. Bring foul weather gear, a change of clothes, and a towel. Other gear includes waders if you want to fly fish. Best baits have been bunker, poppers, swimming lures with or without droppers. Don't forget your tagging kit, camera, cooler and a flashlight. |
