Recent Activities Stateside Foreign Program
On May 5th, 2004 Healing The Children Midlantic's annual airlift arrived at JFK International Airport from the Dominican Republic. A total of 56 arrived that day, including 32 children, 16 accompanying mothers, 4 HTC volunteer escorts and 2 volunteers from Airline Ambassadors, who also acted as escorts for the children.
The arrival at JFK went very smoothly, thanks to the outstanding cooperation and help that we received from the Port Authority NYNJ, the folks from Customs and Border Protection and the personnel from American Airlines. Although it was a cold drizzly day, moving the children from the terminal aboard PANYNJ buses to where the host families were waiting and the match up of children to their host families went smoothly. HTC is truly grateful to all who made this airlift possible.

We have many children waiting to travel to the United States to receive medical care. We have hospitals willing to accept them and doctors willing to care for them.    Yet they still wait.
