Sue Tiger Memorial Award
The Story Of a Legacy Of Love

This award is presented to an individual who has shown outstanding volunteer support for Healing The Children Midlantic’s Volunteer Medical Trips Program.  The award was established in honor of Sue (Lynne) Tiger who dedicated her time and heart to healing children.

Sue died September 13, 1995.  Through this award Sue’s love for children will endure.  She began her work with Healing The Children Midlantic in 1984 when she and her husband, Jim, became host parents to ill children brought to the United States for medical care. Sue then went on to become a Trustee for Healing The Children Midlantic, Inc.  In 1988 she established and directed the International Volunteer Medical Trips Program.  As Director of this program Sue’s love reached out to thousands of sick children all over the world.  In 1992 New Jersey Governor Jim Florio acknowledged her incredible dedication and presented Sue with the Governor'’ Volunteer Award.

The recipient of the Sue Tiger Memorial Award may be a nurse, doctor, administrator of volunteer working behind the scenes providing or packing supplies to be used by the traveling medical teams.  The recipient of this award is always the volunteer who continues Sue’s legacy of love.
