American Red Cross National Disaster Relief Fund [ www.redcross.org/donate/ ] -- Contributions can be made to the American Red Cross by calling 1-800-HELP-NOW (1-800-435-7669) or en español at 1-800-257-7575. Visit their web site at www.redcross.org for information on other ways you can help.

Salvation Army Serving Storm Refugees -- The Salvation Army is currently providing services to storm victims and first responders in the Gulf Coast states. A $100 donation to The Salvation Army will feed a family of four for two days, provide two cases of drinking water and one household clean-up kit, containing brooms, mops, buckets, and cleaning supplies. Neighbors Helping NeighborsWinn-Dixie’s Neighbors Helping Neighbors Program -- Winn-Dixie has implemented its "Neighbors Helping Neighbors" program in all its stores as a way to assist the American Red Cross’ Disaster Relief Fund to benefit storm victims. [ Learn more… ]

Donate Blood

If you are physically able to donate blood, please pick up the phone and call today to schedule an appointment (or book one online) to donate blood. Please remember that blood is perishable and more donations will be needed in the weeks and months to come.

In New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania:

New York Blood Center [ www.nybloodcenter.org ] -- The New York Blood Center has Donation Centers located throughout New York and New Jersey. They also operate on-site and mobile blood drives in the area. Please call 1-800-933-BLOOD (1-800-933-2566) or visit www.nybloodcenter.org.

American Red Cross Blood Services Penn-Jersey Region [ www.pleasegiveblood.org ] -- The Penn-Jersey Region is one of 36 American Red Cross regional blood centers serving Pennsylvania and New Jersey. They have eight Community Donor Centers and 150 bloodmobiles serving the area. Visit their web site at www.pleasegiveblood.org or call them at 1-800-GIVE LIFE (1-800-448-3543).

Volunteer

Numerous volunteers are involved in the rescue efforts at this very moment. Firefighters, EMTs, doctors, nurses, linemen, and others are volunteering their time and services in this time of need. Community service organizations throughout America are always in need of local volunteers. Contact your local fire department and/or rescue squad to become a volunteer member. Contact your local chapter of the American Red Cross, Salvation Army or United Way and offer to help. There are many additional ways for you to help out in your community.
