We are too! We're the Citizens Against Tolls and we want to take the Park out of the Parkway and turn it into the Garden State FREEway. Although we would like to see tolls removed everywhere, let's start with the worst offender - the Parkway. Stopping thousands of cars every few miles is the least efficient, most polluting, and most aggravating way to pay for a road. It's not even fair.
Removing the tolls would be worth fighting for even if it cost extra. But the truth is we'd save a fortune by not needing to pay for tollbooths, toll collectors, management, office buildings, company cars, vacations, pensions, etc., etc., etc. We'd save $488 million alone just by scrapping E-ZPass.
