PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MANASQUAN, NJ; JULY 23, 2007 - Members of Citizens Against Tolls (CAT) have expressed concern regarding Governor Corzine's continued "push" for the selling of New Jersey's assets. "We have written the Governor repeatedly", said CAT President, Ray Neveil, "and we've not had the courtesy of a reply over several months! We have urged the Governor to consult CAT's website, www.endtolls.com, or to have appropriate members of his staff do so, in order to learn how the Parkway can be operated and maintained WITHOUT raising tolls. The information on our website is accurate and authoritative and has been prepared with professional input. If he would take the time to review this information, the Governor would learn that, indeed, the Parkway can be safely and effectively run without any tolls at all," claimed Neveil. "But Governor Corzine does not seem to be interested in learning about this," continued Neveil.

"Public commentary, by way of media interviews and Letters to the Editor, has been overwhelmingly against the selling of our state's assets. The lack of public input into any pending 'plan' in the Governor's office is unacceptable," stated CAT representatives. CAT Government Liaison, Phyllis Elston, pointed out that citizens groups, labor groups, professional organizations, and individual taxpayers have repeatedly requested the opportunity to participate in any proposals being formulated by the Governor's office. So far, a deaf ear has been turned to these pleas. "Goldman Sachs and such groups should not be the only entities allowed to share in the process," stated Elston. "The People of New Jersey will be influenced over the long term by the actions of this Administration. Taxpayers deserve the right to participate and to approve or disapprove any proposals at the voting polls," Elston concluded.
