COMM230: Cinema
SUSSEX COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF THE CINEMA: Professor Gary Mielo MODULE FOUR: FILM HISTORY (Feb. 28 - March 12) The history of the cinema is a fascinating story that covers more than 100 years. Interestingly enough, most of the film conventions and innovations have been around from the very beginning. Only recently, with the advent of computer technology, has filmmaking added to its basic bag of tricks. In many respects, the visual qualities of, for example, Fritz Lang's 1926 silent film METROPOLIS employs the same basic special effects used in the James Cameron's 1998 special effects blockbuster TITANIC.
