A full play in 15 minutes! Ken Gaertner's A Flowery Relationship is an absurdist comedy involving two old people who share a passion for flowers. What grows out of them becomes the action of the play. Can love for flowers prove fatal?

Ken Gaertner is a member of the Dramatist’s Guild and has worked with Mystic Theatre on two previous productions, Tortoise Shout and a two-act play in verse, Dominica's Smile which was presented at The Grove Street Theatre in 1997. Previously he's worked with several theatres in New York City, including The Open Eye Theatre, The Actors Institute, American Theatre of Actors,  Salt and Pepper Mime and  the Vital Theatre Company. He is author
of Koan Bread  a collection of poems and plays and has published short stories and poetry in magazines including Commonweal, America, Confrontation, Poem, and Poet Lore.

In September, Mystic Theatre will produce Mr. Gaertner's new verse comedy, Vagrants in Love at the Burgdorff Cultural Center in Maplewood NJ.

On October 19th, Mystic will present a collection of poems, The Breath of the Spirit,  by Mr. Gaertner in a benefit performance featuring world renowned organist, Marilyn Mason. The performance will be held at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 316 East 88th Street, in New York.
