Richard Kohn, performs the poetry of Carl Sandburg,
which gathers the hopes and losses of working people everywhere. The voice
of Everyman, Sandburg incarnates the voice of a young girl dreaming of
escaping her small town for the promise of Chicago, the aching muscles
of steel mill workers in Gary Indiana, and the man in the street, who has
heard it all before and still asks, “Why?” Mr.Kohn has been performing
Sandburg’s poetry for several years in New York, Baltimore and Washington,
has now joined Mystic Theatre to make this performance available to a national
audience.
