Senior Class Christmas Party

Aiken's 1965 annual, "The Peregrine," featured several pictures
from the December, 1964, Senior Class Christmas Party. Don was the featured
entertainer. Karl and Tom provided the recorded music.

Little Don and The Contentions was the band for the afternoon.
(According to Don, this is early in the life of the group.) Don Schenk
is in the center, with Jerry Eisele on drums and David Morganstern
on bass. David's twin brother Fred Morganstern later joined the
group on organ. Little Don and the Contentions became one of the most popular
bands in Cincinnati over the next few years.
Karl and Tom provided the recorded music that afternoon. In
the early days of The
Commands (before they became T.H.E...) Karl Sjodahl (far
right) and Tom Bruckmann
(behind the young lady) were still doing more record hops than live
performances.
