| Starting with the opening of Aiken Senior High School in September of 1962, a small group of Aiken students began recording the major events in the life of the new school. They dragged audio tape recorders to school dances, pep rallies, sports events, PTA meetings, concerts and dramatic presentations, and they recorded performances of many of the school's popular musical groups. Excerpts from these recordings were edited and pressed into two long-playing (LP) vinyl records. Popular local radio personalities Bob Braun (WLW) and Dick Wagner (WSAI) provided the narration for two editions of the Aiken Sound Album, released in June, 1963, and July, 1964. |

| This is the Aiken Sound Album, an aural remembrance of the School's most delightful events. It contains actual recordings made at the time these events occurred. For its preparation we are indebted to members of the faculty, to the visual aids and stage crews, and particularly, to the entire cast of students, teachers and parents who are featured on the record itself. Years from now, their voices will recall to us the pleasant memories of our first year in Cincinnati's newest High School. |
