| The following photographs are of an exhibition at Rockafeller Center of the french artist, Auguste Rodin. Rodin, in portraying his works, refused to ignore the negative aspects of humanity. His works confront distress and moral weakness as well as passion and beauty.
The first is the head of Pierre de Wiessant, the humanoid body to the left of him is called davus humanus airhead and not one of Rodins works.
The next is that of Jean d' Aire, again the body to the left was created by a being, not of this world.
The final sculpture, which happens to be one of my favorites, next to the The Kiss, is "The Thinker". What is the Thinker, Thinking? You will never know and that was the whole point of Rodin's sculpture. He wanted to portray something you could not see, in this case "thought".
